Continue ShoppingYoga might seem like a strange addition to this list, but it's actually a great example of how mindfulness can help you achieve better focus in your life.
By taking the time to practice yoga, or other mindful exercises, you can take control of your life and experience greater peace at work.
Yoga is also an excellent way to connect with others who share similar values and interests.
It's never too early or late to begin a yoga practice, and these tips will help you get started on the path to high-performance life.
Setting an intention before you start practicing can help you focus your thoughts and energies on the purpose for which you're doing yoga in the first place. (Hint: it isn't about how flexible you are!). Having a clear intention helps you feel more focused and present in your practice.
For example, if you want to improve your performance on the field or your job, then make that your intention for the activity. When you are practicing with that intention, it's easier to focus on doing things right instead of trying to be perfect. (Perfection is not possible). In this way, your body and mind become a high-performance machine.
Staying committed to any task during the day means that you're not distracted by your thoughts or the next thing on your to-do list. You're staying in the moment and paying attention to what's happening right now.
Staying committed to your practice is a skill that will help you in every area of your life. It's like riding a bike: the more you do it, the easier it gets. And as with anything else, when we start something new, there are moments when we may feel uncomfortable and want to quit. That's OK; this is part of the process!
Getting comfortable with being uncomfortable means that you're practicing yoga even when it's hard. If you aren't challenged, then there's no way for you to get stronger. Making a habit of showing up for yourself means that you're learning to accept and appreciate yourself as you are. When you're good to yourself, it's easier to be good to others.
All of these things take practice, but the more you practice them, the easier they get. And if you do them consistently, then eventually they'll become habits that can be practiced in any situation — even when it's uncomfortable or hard.
Practicing with humility and gratitude means that you are willing to do the work of yoga, even if it is difficult for you.
It means that you...:
Practicing with humility and gratitude also means that you are grateful for the benefits of yoga.
You may not see them immediately, but they will come if you stay the course.
And they will come in ways that are surprising and wonderful!
